Here are just a few of the rescue organizations that will benefit from the sale of “Love Has Many Faces”, as well as a link to my producer’s website, Brain Grenade Entertainment!

Seattle Animal Shelter’s large network of volunteers has helped save many lives through their foster program and other volunteer programs. I am a volunteer for their Pet Loss Support group, which provides a valuable service to those who have lost a pet of their own and need to talk to others who understand. The group meets Thursday evenings at 6pm at the shelter’s main office on Elliott Avenue.

Ginger Luke started out single handed taking on dogs on “death row”..those with no hope, that no one wanted. She has been a powerhouse when it comes to taking in and placing dogs rescued from shelters, puppy mills, and other difficult situations.

Terrolynn Guiles is an example of one person who has made a huge difference for so many dogs. It is through Terri that I got my beloved Lola, who was discarded when her owners didn’t want to deal with two failed cherry eye surgeries. They wanted to put her down, but the vet suggested a shelter. From the shelter she went to rescue, where she had a successful surgery. Lola is a beautiful, vibrant dog who loves life, people, and other animals. If it weren’t for Terri she probably wouldn’t be here today!

Joan Morrett and her band of friends and volunteers have singlehandedly made a difference in the lives of dozens of dogs. I’ve followed many of their stories through our e mail group, and met some of the members as well. Membership includes people in Florida, New York, Michigan, California and Seattle.

www.carafund.org
Cara (Cocker Angels Rescue Aid)Fund was the first organization to approach me about writing a song about rescue. If it weren’t for the fact that I bought an item at their online auction and Joie Hall saw my signature tag that mentioned my songwriting, this CD project wouldn’t even be happening. Love Has Many Faces was written for Cara Fund.

Our local Humane Society is a great example of a large local organization making a huge difference for the animals. I attended their very first auction at the Sheraton in downtown Seattle in the late 1980’s, and attended many since then as well.

Kyla Duffy has been compiling heartwarming stories about rescued animals and creating books that also raise funds for animal groups. Learn more here. Kyla is also an aerial performance artist and is working on yet another project to help animals. More details to come.

Marilyn is an amazing landscape and animal artist from Pennsylvania—-an amazingly talented woman with a heart for animals. Her works speak for themselves so please visit her site.

This is the home of my producer Loren Weisman’s company. His model for artists who want to maintain control of their own music was the inspiration for my CD project and without his guidance and support this project wouldn’t be happening. Find out more about why he does what he does, and how it works.

www.blinddogrescue.com
This organization helps place blind dogs in forever homes. Having had dogs who have lost their sight, I know from experience that they can still lead very happy lives. Sheila Van Tyne, who is part of the cocker rescue online group I belong to, got involved with this organization because she has multiple blind cockers who are all loving, happy, members of their family.

www.pasadosafehaven.org
The organization was founded in honor of Pasado, a donkey, who was killed by teens in the Bellevue area in the 90’s. They provide a safe haven for dogs, cats, farm animals, old animals no one wants any more. The song “Daffodils” on my CD was written when Pasado Founder Susan Michael’s beloved dog Chomper passed away in 2008.
